One of our biggest issues is our garbage media – and no, I am not talking about the gormless slit-cheesers of our motorcycle media. The disease, however, is the same.
Our mainstream, free-to-air idiots are largely broke, or going broke. This has been going on for some time.
So the news they produce is all crap, because they do not possess the resources to actually do any reporting.
If you wish to gaze, albeit briefly, into the gronking horror and utter degeneracy of the nausea we are subjected, spend some time looking at “Morning Television”. The first politician who declares one of his platforms to be the eradication of this by perhaps hurling it into the sea, I will tattoo his name on my body.
The bulletins are headlines (usually, whatever social media is ranting about) followed by “Shit we found on the Internet and YouTube”, because that is free. And then, the day in sport, but wait! Before we explore what our revered thugs and rapists might be doing on the field, we have someone dressed a cow who will maybe give you some money for some reason.
Then there is the insidious part. The media is supplied stuff all the time from the various state police Media Units. These are departments in the police whose sole purpose is to make the cops look good by supplying the media with beautifully edited pieces, complete with sound-grabs and statements by high-ranking cops about whatever agenda the cops wanna push at any given time.
Think about that for sec. The cops have a propaganda unit, for that is exactly what it is, and our media spreads that propaganda for the cops, because it comes for free and the media needs content.
So rather than interviewing police about whatever crime they might have committed – like you would expect journos to do, the media just waits for the Police Media Unit to send them what the cops want run on TV. No questions can be asked, and no-one’s feet can be held to the fire.
I find that utterly appalling.
And I think it is easier to hold those media pieces of shit to account than it is the cops. Target their remaining advertisers. Expose their complicity in distributing police propaganda. Publicly refuse to do business with advertisers who support their news networks.
You won’t have to do it for long. They will all be gone soon enough.
